Designed as a resource, the booklet Inhabit Creation differently helps every church, group, or believer move from reflection to action. It offers prayers, biblical insights, activities, and theological resources to foster community life centered on caring for creation, God’s gift.

In October 2023, at its 12thGeneral Assembly general assembly in Jacqueville, Ivory Coast, the CEVAA launched a new theme: Inhabit Creation differently,” based on Genesis 2:15. Together, the churches are committed to protecting the Earth, reconnecting with all living things, and bearing witness to a responsible and active faith.

Living in creation

Our era cannot ignore the ecological issue, nor can it reduce it to its political aspect, for it has a moral and spiritual dimension. Inhabit Creation differently aims to foster a genuine and concrete awareness of the destruction of creation by humankind, even though we have been entrusted by God, the Creator, to preserve and maintain it. To this end, initiatives are springing up all over the community : tree-planting campaigns, cleanup efforts, Bible workshops on ecology, reflection seminars, and youth camps to raise awareness and provide training in responsible stewardship of the Earth.

To actively participate in the Shared Action, an activity booklet has been published. It compiles the vision of the Inhabit Creation differently, with an introduction toco-theologycothéologie. Above all, the booklet is a practical tool, providing ideas for prayers rooted in faith, as well as biblical and theological activities. Anyone can join the Shared Action, and, thanks to the booklet, can organize an activity within their church, lead a local project, and raise awareness among those around them.
