Cevaa Youth 2026: A Week of Experiences, Faith, and Creativity

Cevaa Youth Camp 2026 News: A Week of Experiences, Faith, and Creativity From July 20 to 26, 2026, more than 100 young people from Cevaa member churches gathered in Kpalimé, Togo, for an intense week centered on the theme: “Act Today to Change Tomorrow,” echoing the theme ofShared Action . This camp proved to be a true laboratory for transformation, laying the groundwork for sustainable local projects led by engaged young people. By experimenting, connecting their lives to their faith, and collectively building solutions, the participants acquired skills that will serve their respective communities. The young people’s daily lives were shaped by a spiritual routine of prayer, meditation, and creative Bible workshops. The program also included thematic presentations on the ecological crisis, digital literacy, and agroecology, as well as creative workshops such as choir, theater, dance, percussion, and visual arts. Hands-on activities such as crafts, gardening, sustainable cooking, and eco-construction—complemented by opportunities for sports and wellness—enriched the experience. For example, the culinary arts served as a true school of life. Going beyond the simple framework of recipes, the cooking workshops became a space for collective learning that combined tradition, creativity, know-how, and camaraderie. By preparing dishes together inspired by Togo and the participating countries—such as ablo, potato leaves, and zowè—the young people cultivated cooperation, patience, and the joy of serving others. The kitchen thus became a place of fellowship, proving that by sharing a meal, young people learn in a concrete way to “live life differently.” Beyond the activities, this event facilitated an intercultural encounter among young people from Africa, Europe, the Pacific, and the Caribbean, fostering a shared reflection on how to live life differently in a world marked by ecological, social, and spiritual crises. In this regard, one participant attests to the power of this shared experience: “For me, this camp was much more than just a trip to Kpalimé. It was the tangible realization that we—young people from such different cultures—share the same faith and the same sense of urgency to act for our planet. By cooking together, discussing climate issues, and praying side by side, I realized that change doesn’t begin tomorrow, but now—through our daily actions and our international solidarity.” Pastor Omer Dagan, executive secretary of the Youth and Outreach Division, thanked the two sister churches in Togo (EEPT and EMT) for their hospitality.

The meditations, of course, align with the theme of our Shared Action Inhabit Creation differently ,Inhabit Creation differently and they invite every reader to be transformed, to change their perspective, their habits, and their way of being in the world. This booklet is not merely meant to nourish our reflection; it is meant to support a vibrant community dynamic. Each text is a pause, a call to prayer, discernment, and commitment. In a world marked by crises and injustices, these meditations become guideposts for listening to God’s word and responding together. This collection also reminds us of something essential:Shared Action a project to be read or understood, but an action to be lived out. It takes on its full meaning when each and every one of us embraces it concretely—in worship services, gatherings, outreach activities, and daily life.

Tree planting initiative at UEPAL

News Tree planting initiative at UEPAL Invitation to participate in tree and hedge planting days. Reminder: March 7 and 8, 2026 UEPAL is mobilizing to combat climate change and protect biodiversity. Following the Terres d'Eglises day organized by UEPAL on April 12, 2024, we proposed setting up actions that would enable us to contribute to caring for Creation, a responsibility as Christians, in solidarity with those who are already suffering from the effects of climate change and for future generations.  On March 7 and 8, 2026, we invite you to participate in the first edition of these two days of tree and hedge planting throughout Alsace and Moselle. Morocco: A new way of living creation

Morocco News: Experience Creation in a New Way Every year, the Evangelical Church in Morocco (EEAM) offers young people a summer camp where they can connect, share times of reflection, listen to God’s Word, and enjoy moments of fellowship. https://cevaa-actioncommune.org/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/Gestion-deau_projet-JEEAM.mp4 For the 2025 session, which just took place, camp leaders incorporated a discussion session into the program to launchShared Action initiativeInhabit Creation differently with the young people. Omer Dagan, executive secretary of the Cevaa’s Youth and Animation Division, joined via video conference to present our initiative and explore ideas for activities and projects. It was an opportunity to share together these beautiful words of St. Francis of Assisi: “Praised be You, my Lord, for our mother Earth, who sustains and governs us, and produces various fruits with colorful flowers and grass.” Canticle of the Creatures, p. 343.

Cameroon: the Church trains young people in recycling

As part of our Shared Action Inhabit Creation differently , Inhabit Creation differently thirty young people from the ten ecclesiastical regions participated in a four-day training session on waste recycling. Organized at the Ngaoundéré Construction Center by the Evangelical Lutheran Church and the Youth Department (LEELC), the training combined theoretical and practical learning.  At the end of the session, the participants received a certificate symbolizing the youth’s commitment to environmental preservation.

2023 - AGM - adoption of theme and first action

News 2023 – General Assembly – Adoption of the Theme and First Shared Action As a Community of Churches, CEVAA calls upon and encourages its members to engage in dialogue and theological reflection. The Shared Action initiative Shared Action community ties among churches at the regional and interregional levels. Following Christ’s example, the Churches teach compassion, listening, and support. Shared Actions within the CEVAA mobilize all member Churches of the Community; these must join forces to engage effectively and resolutely in actions and/or to discuss the themes they have chosen. It was during the General Assembly in October 2023 in Côte d’Ivoire that delegates approvedShared Action the themeInhabit Creation differently The Churches thus demonstrated their commitment to acting together to rebuild connections with the environment provided by God the Father. During this meeting, and to symbolically kick off the reflection and activities around this theme, participants had the opportunity to plant a tree.
